MORE THAN SOUP

Frank Szarka

More Than Soup is dedicated to Frank Szarka who died suddenly on February 25, 2004. Frank was a highly skilled electrician, plumber, mechanic, carpenter, gardener and general problem-solver, as well as adventuresome cook who loved to feed people. Although Frank will be greatly missed by family and friends, the gifts he shared with us will be long remembered. Of all the talents and skills Frank possessed, he received the most joy from cooking and feeding others.

Over the last few months of Frank's life, a vigorous discussion had been taking place at Frank's home concerning the problem of getting food to everyone. Eventually, the ideas from those brain-storming sessions will be presented here for your review and comment.

The primary goal of the More Than Soup web site is to provide information about how hunger in the US and around the world is currently addressed, how we can improve the nutritional value of the yield of our crops and alternate food resources as well as spark discussion about creative ways to feed everyone. Perhaps, together, we can bring the end of hunger in the world. Now.
